OUR CURRICULUM
ENGLISH
Cambridge Primary English enables learners to communicate confidently and effectively and to develop the critical skills to respond to a range of information, media and texts with understanding and enjoyment. Learners who follow this curriculum framework will develop a first language competence in English based on a curriculum designed to be successful in any culture and to promote cross-cultural understanding.
MATHEMATICS
The mathematics curriculum framework explores five content areas: number, geometry, measure, handling data and problem solving. This curriculum focuses on principles, patterns, systems, functions and relationships so that learners can apply their mathematical knowledge and develop a holistic understanding of the subject
SCIENCE
This curriculum framework covers four content areas: scientific enquiry, biology, chemistry and physics. Scientific enquiry is about considering ideas, evaluating evidence, planning, investigating, recording and analyzing data. Environmental awareness and some history of science are also part of the curriculum.
ARABIC
“Learn Arabic Language; it will sharpen your wisdom” (Umar bin Khattab RA)
Apart from learning English as our first language, KLIS introduces Arabic Language as the second language with the curriculum which is fun and not limited to the pages of the books, but incorporated with games, activities, songs, and other interesting activities designed by our team in order to help them love and be proud of the language at the beginning and able to communicate at the advanced level.
Designed mainly for non-native speakers, our Arabic curriculum will focus on voices (ashwat), structures (taraakiib), and vocabularies (mefrodaat) for our children at lower primary and moving on the reading, speaking, listening, and writing at the upper level.
ISLAMIC STUDIES
Students will be taught about various aspects of human life as individuals, within communities and relationship with God. Tawheed (oneness of Allah), Seerah (the story of the journey of the life of Prophet Muhammad PBUH), the sciences of the Al-Qur’an are studied. KLIS Students will also learn about hadith (the words of the Prophet Muhammad that were compiled by his companions).
Furthermore, we teach how to read the Qur’an correctly, in accordance with Tajweed and educate our learners to become Hafidz. KLIS Primary students will also have the opportunity to learn and improve their ability to read, write, listen, and speak in Arabic, which will combine in a richer understanding of Islam whilst also adding further skills to our students development.
TAHFIDZ AND QURANIC STUDIES
“The Best among You are Those Who Learn the Quran and Teach It!” (Prophet Muhammad PBUH)

Our Tahfeez Program was lovingly established with the objective of coaching students to memorize a minimum 2 juz of the Al-Quran, understand it and implement its teachings and values in their daily lives. While tahseen and tajweed program will be taught to our children as well, to help them to recite the Quran the way it should be recited.
Here is the breakdown of our minimum tahfeez target:
- Grade One : An-Naas – Al-Qari’ah
- Grade Two : Al-A’diyat – Asy Syams
- Grade Three : Al-Balad – Al-Buruj
- Grade Four : Al-Insyiqaq – An-Naba

ICT

KLIS students will develop key ICT skills in a range of applications including computer programming, word processing, digital graphics, databases, spreadsheets, email, presentations, video/animation, the internet and web authoring. They will also consider wider issues such as eSafety and the adaption of their work to suit their audience.
PHYSICAL EDUCATION
Our high-quality physical education curriculum inspires all pupils to succeed and excel in competitive sport and other physically-demanding activities. It provides opportunities for our students to become physically confident in a way which supports their health and fitness. Opportunities to compete in sport and other activities build character and help to embed values such as fairness and respect.
ARTS & CRAFTS
Formation of our arts and crafts curriculum centres on the productive and responsive domains of art education. The creation (production) of art is a core element but KLIS has taken this a step further. We also educate and develop our students ability to use the correct language and emotions in response to art.
